I have been here for pick up on several occasions not sure why took me so long to review! I've never eaten dine in only picked up for take out so my review is based on that experience. Typically I get chicken pad thai which is very tasty. I will warn you it can be spicy for my taste. I therefore request no spice to be safe. The portion is huge and can last me for about 3 meals. My boyfriend typically orders the same and his last for 2 meals. Needless to say you may not eat all in one sitting! Hey if you do no judgement it's really that good! :) The lettuce chicken wraps are also good as an appetizer or even a meal. The flavoring is good. I will say they sometimes don't give me enough lettuce but, other than that they are delicious. The service is always great and everytime I've ordered from here there has not been an issue with orders being incorrect. I have seen some reviews that aren't crazy about it here but, I've honestly had nothing but great, fresh, reasonably priced food. Will definitely return! You can call to order, order online or do drive up order. I typically order and pay online just for easier/no wait pick up.
UPDATE DURING COVID: I just looked carefully for Bamboo Bistro in order to order through Favor. I had forgotten some of the reasons for my 5 Star review: very fresh, prepared to order, AND they offer a steamed bowl (which helps just a bit with my COVID 10#). Choice of sauce, well-wrapped spring roll, no problem with a Favor delivery). I Bamboo Bistro *and* I Favor This is my first review for a restaurant into which I have never set foot. I first tried Bamboo Bistro when I had a badly injured knee and wanted a drive through experience with healthful (and possibly even delicious) food. The drive-through proved to be convenient, the food was wonderful, and a major bonus is that you can order and pay with this great app. All you have to do is zip up to the window, sign your name and eat excellent food. I love the whole experience, and used it frequently while my knee was healing. I have eaten four or five different tofu dishes (with brown rice!), both edamame appetizers and vegetarian egg rolls. I especially love the Teriyaki Tofu Salad. Everything is great. However, tonight was special. As usual, I chose the pre-order drive-through option. I waited in a short line of cars while a lady in a Lexus got her food. Then the nice man at the window looked out, went to get my food and when I pulled up, he asked, "Victoria?" Have you ever been recognized in a drive-through line? Me neither. Here's the point: if Bamboo Bistro North takes such extraordinary care of one little old lady in a drive-through lane, how great is the service in this lovely little restaurant? I ordered take out food for my friends who just had a baby. The husband likes this spot and the wife wanted to compromise for the husband. I unfortunately cannot have soy so that pretty much cancels out most asian places for me. I give the guy who took my order props for really trying to find something on the menu for me. Wound up with Spring Rolls. Just about everything on their menu has soy in it. Even the peanut sauce for the spring rolls, so they gave me sweet and sour instead. The wife said her food was okay, much spicier rhan usual. The husband ate his cold and was plenty satisfied.
Delicious food. I like to stop here when in their area of Austin. I usually take it to go. I love their Pad Tai. The portions are very generous. The menu is quite extensive and I've noticed it is always crowded at lunch time. I hope to expand my sampling of their menu but fir now I wanted to give them a shout out for the good food I have enjoyed here so far. They have a drive thru! That's a big plus for me! Since I'm on the road quite a bit and I don't always have time to sit down inside a restaurant this place is a winner. I don't want fast food just because I'm in a hurry.
My new favorite Chinese delivery. I live in the Domain and we have a few Chinese restaurants around, but they're not all that... exciting! Bamboo Bistro tasted great, pretty good quality, and quick delivery. Will def be ordering from them again!
